You can apply for your learner licence at the age of 16, we recommend you read “your keys to driving in Queensland” to help you understand the Australian Road Rules.
To get your learner licence you will need to do a few things:
Complete an application form provided by Queensland Transport;
Take this form and proof of identity to your local Queensland Transport centers;
Complete and pass the written road rules test.
We can provide tuition to help you understand the Australian road rules and prepare you for the written test.

Going f or your Q-Safe Driving Test
You are able to take your practical driving test when you:
are 17 years or older;
have held your learner licence for twelve months or more;
have completed the 100 hours driving required and got them signed off in your
log book.

Your driver trainer will prepare you thoroughly for the 30 minute driving test so you know exactly what to expect. When your ready to take your test we will arrange a test time with Queensland Transport. Tests are carried out at the Southport, Helenvale and Burleigh Heads testing centers.
During the test your driving skills will be assessed by a Queensland Transport examiner, once your test is completed you will receive feedback on your driving ability and given a copy of the Driving Assessment Report, when you pass your driving test you then purchase your Drivers Licence from the testing center.
Booking your Driving Test
Booking your driving test couldn’t be easer and are booked through Queensland Transport, there is a booking fee of $40.45 that must be paid before you can be given a test date, if you are required to complete a 100 hour log book you must get this checked and okayed before you apply for your driving test, this is done by taking it to your local post office, you will then receive a letter from Queensland Transport letting you know that every things okay with your logbook and you can now arrange your driving test.
